Each of the three clinical exemplars will consist of a discrete project. Collectively the exemplars will address issues that are fundamental to the overall NeuroGrid proposal and to e-science more generally. The exemplars will be carefully managed and integrated to ensure that common requirements are identified, built and evaluated, to provide capacity to generalise the outputs, and to evaluate the project from the perspective of the overall programme goals. Common requirements already identified in principle include: data curation and management, data access and security and desktop tools for image presentation, manipulation and annotation.
Exemplar 1 (dementia):Prospective study to assess Grid-based services to improve consistency and analysis of MR imaging in longitudinal studies and trials
Exemplar 2 (stroke):Development of an infrastructure for image management and observer interpretation in large multicentre trials – ACCESS
Exemplar 3 (psychosis):Using existing MRI datasets to standardise analyses and develop capacity for remote analyses of existing datasets: psychosis exemplar
